Why It Matters
Advent is a season of anticipation, repentance, and hope — preparing the heart for the coming of Christ at Christmas and looking forward to his promised return. The word "Advent" means "coming" or "arrival."
How It Is Observed
Advent wreath with four candles lit progressively each Sunday, Advent calendars, special church services, the Jesse Tree devotional, increased prayer and charitable giving.
